It's important to respect the email inboxes of your volunteers, subject matter experts, and the wonderful talent that you manage with Lineup. (We know you do this already.) There's even a law about it.
Those end-users of Lineup (the ones who receive invitations to teams, to Lineup Forms, and evaluations) are able to opt-out of receiving the emails (they can always opt back in!).
Specifically, the following emails now have an "Unsubscribe" link in their footers (to keep in compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act):
- Team Invitations
- Lineup Form email invitations that are sent directly to them
- The exception is when someone requests a link to a Lineup Form
- Invitations to team surveys
- Team emails
- Group emails
- Direct emails to someone
What happens if someone opts out?
If one of your valuable talent users opts out of receiving emails, they will no longer be able to receive most email communications through Lineup. When you do attempt to email them, we will alert you that the user has opted out.
Can they opt back in?
Yes, someone who has opted out can always opt back in! All they must do is click the "Manage subscriptions" link at the bottom of any email that has been sent to them prior to opting out. There, they can simply click "Resubscribe to emails."
